Precautions

It is advisable to go through a Sufi Yoga course before starting to practice on your own. With respect to the breath, it is imperative to practice under the guidance of an experienced teacher.  As breath is the grosses manifestation of energy in the body, it can be harmful to the mind and emotional wellbeing of the person if this energy is not properly regulated and directed.  Hence the guidance of a teacher is imperative to move further into these practices. 

Once you have understood the basic principles and purpose of Sufi Yoga, you will then have moments and circumstances when you will want to apply these tools practically in daily life. This is encouraged, however, the physical exercises and Sufi practices should be practiced at home only to the level that has been instructed by the teacher.
